Great brands are built on an authentic foundation of brand values, messages and strategies that drive internal culture, inform external marketing, and build solid connections with their audiences. Muse helps clients to lay those foundations and build those connections. We think of it as a journey to greatness. Our team of designers, writers, strategists and thinkers lead with passion. Your journey to greatness begins with Muse.
Meet the Muse team. We look forward to meeting you.

We don’t know how it happens, but we know when it happens. Mark’s knack for the “Blink” moment has earned him his reputation as our “Maverick Leader”. If you’re not sure what that means may we suggest you read up on Sally Hogshead and Malcolm Gladwell?
Mark draws his inspiration from a wide range of disciplines. He’s a type-geek and music-freak – the ultimate fan of Saul Bass, David Carson and Joe Strummer. A voracious reader and media junkie, Mark is known to quote Bernadette Jiwa one minute, Jerry Seinfeld the next.
A graphic designer by trade, Mark’s design career spans three decades. What does that really mean? He can’t drive through the city or walk into a record store without seeing one of his logos, album covers or designs. He’s a creative director, university lecturer and social media advisor. Mark is the consummate mentor, and student of life. Mark guides Muse through every new project and design challenge with gentle composure, then “Blink!” It happens.

Around here Judy is fondly referred to as “The Talent”, and talent she has. Judy is one of those rare birds that can figure out just about anything. She’s tenacious (a polite way to say stubborn). Judy sticks with a new challenge until she has it licked – something our clients appreciate. Highly organized, charming and great at remembering faces, she’s the leader every organization wants. But she’s ours, so back off! Judy’s background reads like she’s been in training for Muse her entire life. She started her first business while still in high school. A summer arts camp for children helped get her through university. She honed her skills in marketing and fundraising with roles at the Toronto Symphony, Opera Hamilton and the Oakville Children’s Choir. She’s been the executive director of an art gallery and a B.I.A., and she’s a killer Account Manager. She’s also a wonderful cook and an exceptional Mom. Judy was made for Muse.

Brandin is our Digital Brand Strategist. His highly refined design skills are equally matched by his technical abilities, making him the perfect storm for his role at Muse. Brandin has found his home here. He speaks “Muse” and his appreciation for our approach to marketing works for our team and our clients. Brandin started building websites when he was 12. An 8th grade computer class started a lifelong journey into the digital and online world. He never stops thinking, and he thinks BIG! His inspiration comes from diverse heroes such as inventor and entrepreneur Elon Musk (SpaceX, Tesla Motors, PayPal, SolarCity) and rapper/entrepreneur 50 Cent. According to Brandin, they both share a “Go Big or Go Home” attitude that always challenges the status quo. Brandin and his lovely wife have two beautiful young daughters and recently welcomed a baby boy to their growing family.

Joanna Williams is our content creator, social media specialist, and blog writer. She is also our “Anchor”. She’s the strong, quiet type that gets a handle on the situation quickly and has at least two strategies ready before she dives in. She started working with Muse as Social Media and PR Manager for Telling Tales, where she achieved remarkably high engagement. Joanna now works with Muse clients to maximize the effectiveness of their social channels. Joanna keeps them on brand with dedicated support and strategic postings. She combines expert research with an authentic communication style that consistently produce results. Joanna has a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University and a Public Relations certificate from McMaster University. Joanna and her husband have two lovely young daughters who can’t wait for Telling Tales each year.

Phoebe’s role at Muse changes with the wind. With a background in Fine Arts and Creative Writing from OCAD University, she can be found designing logos one minute, writing copy the next, or pouring the team a much needed cup of coffee throughout the day. Phoebe has worked every job – twice – and has found a perfect role here at Muse as our Marketing Assistant. She also makes us laugh… a lot. Phoebe’s inspiration comes from her cousin’s collection of hand-me-down Archie comics, the colour pink, and her love of Japanese woodcuts. She met her partner Simon in their high school art class, and they now live in a small yellow house in Hamilton.
When she’s not at the Muse shop or in her studio, you can find her in the aisles of the local dollar store admiring the glitter selection, or in the bath, eating a pickle.
